It is going to be a fun talk. I will briefly touch on what defines an "off brand" phonograph, show original Granby advertisements, factory photos, and be explaining to non collectors the basics about how furniture stores and music stores of the day met the demand and cashed in on the cabinet model phonograph craze of the late teens and early 1920's. My talk will be focused on the Granby phonograph but the story is similar to many regional businesses across the country in this time period.
The fun thing about my "talk" is that I show rare photographs and family photos not seen in my book or anywhere else!!!
I do not consider myself a phonograph or Victrola expert.... but I do know a thing or two about the Granby Phonograph.
