Was the later VV-XVI also available in American Walnut?
If yes, and you have one, pictures would be appreciated.
Thanks! Steve S.

Re: VV-XVI question
Yes. In fact, American walnut was considerably more common on the VERY late version of this instrument, (tagged as the VV-120) than it was on any earlier iterations, for walnut became a much more popular furniture wood as the 'Twenties progressed.

Re: VV-XVI question
Uncle Vanya, Thanks for the reply. I didn't think about the 120 as a possibility but you may be right. There's one I may go after, not too many pictures posted of it, but the close-up of the interior of the lid has more grain showing than I'd think I'd see on mahogany. It does look like a No.2 reproducer so it later. I can't see the ID tag though to see if it's a XVI, or 120.
I'll get a chance to see it in a couple of days so will know for sure but just wanted to see what I might expect.
Appreciate the help, Steve S

I can tell from the photo that the wood is walnut. Good luck! I hope you get it.

Re: VV-XVI question
It was a VV-111. Selling price 375, plus 10% buyers premium, and sales tax. A nice cabinet but the later, more "smeary" Am. Walnut., not as highly figured as others I've seen. It was nice, but not nice enough to chase something else out of my collection, so it went home with someone else.
