Unusual Phonograph Crane Identification ?????

Post by Lampman5 »

I have had this unusual phonograph crane for many years. Unable to determine what it is from or even how it works. I don't believe it was assembled incorrectly because the parts that are moveable (slide up and down) are held in place permanently at the top and bottom.

Any help would be appreciated???

Thanks
Steve

That's a "Chicago Horn Support," manufactured by the Chicago Stand Company. The top section is missing in the photos. Attached is a scan from a page in Antique Phonograph Accessories & Contraptions. Click twice on the image to enlarge and sharpen.

Thanks George, Much appreciated. I will have to hunt in my box of the parts now.
