Talk about reviving an old thread....
I just bought an "Excellent" record from this guy on eBay and there is a gouge... like someone dropped a tonearm and the needle disturbed two grooves, leaving an audible distortion, split second, I admit, at two revolutions. He claimed he played the record and heard nothing and suggested that records suffer a little "greying" or wear with time. Greying on an EX record? Does the image below look like "greying" to you?
He will allow a return and refund, but, given the rarity of the record and it's otherwise excellent condition, I'm keeping it. However, I will never buy anything from this seller again.
My lesson learned is to search the FORUM for every eBay seller of items related to our hobby. Had I done so beforehand, I would have avoided this seller altogether.
