That is about the most interesting Walnut that I have seen. Beautiful figuring. Any pictures with the lid up?Pathé Logical wrote: Sat Jan 01, 2022 2:49 pm My favorite find of 2021 was this Victor VE-XVI (sn 3660 A; "Special Finish"), which I found in the wilds of Wisconsin back in August. The previous owners (non-collectors) had only used it as a decorator item for over 25 years, and had never plugged in it. The machine is in spectacular, all original condition --- right down to the original, though tattered and unusable, power cord. As a bonus, an aftermarket, record repeater was installed in this machine. The pics below (click each twice for proper orientation and to enlarge) were taken at the time of purchase.

I had a good year, but this has to be my best. It even has the original box full of Victor documents and the albums. All for $300.00.
It doesn’t reside in front of the fireplace. These pictures were taken right after bringing it home.

Wow Django.....that is STUNNING!
The only "find" I found this year was a Brunswick console which normally don't interest me. Because it plays 3 disc types I thought it would be fun to play with. And for only a $100 (plus a fantastic Wyatt reproducer rebuild) I thought it worth it.

I've already posted these, but in the manner of a trip down (recent) memory lane:
With this year's purchase of this record storage cabinet with albums...
...and this Pathé Concert no. 20 phonograph...
...for the first time I have a really top-notch way to play my Pathé records and a system to keep them organized. (The Edison Triumph is an old friend, not a new acquisition. It's managed to avoid too many overt displays of jealousy so far.)

Re: Best finds of 2021?
A ‘Figure 6’ is a replacement diaphragm for Edison Disc Phonograph reproducers invented by me and manufactured and installed by Wyatt Markus, that meet or perhaps exceed the sonic performance of original diaphragms when new. They are made in two versions for regular Edison Disc Phonograph reproducers and for Edisonic reproducers. When coupled with a Gilmore diamond stylus, the results are nothing less than incredible.

Re: Best finds of 2021?
2021 was pretty good for me. I had the good opportunity to purchase a Columbia BF cylinder machine, two Edison Triumphs and a Reginaphone model 240. A couple of wood horns and earlier in the year I was happy to get a Columbia cylinder cabinet very similar to the one Jerry B. showed in his posting. And a few days ago I brought home a boatload of cylinders.
Happy New year,
