An HMV163 with a starting price of £50 and only ten miles from my home.
I thought it might be my lucky day until I saw what was under the lid.

AH -- that must be an example of the rare Keith Prowse version !! ha ! Actually , must be worth the £50 if someone already has a 163 but in a poor cabinet as this one looks quite nice conditionepigramophone wrote: Sat Jan 15, 2022 6:30 am An HMV163 with a starting price of £50 and only ten miles from my home.

I wouldn't be so sure. Its been re-motored so there will be a redundant winding hole in the side. The original wooden turned door knobs are missing, there will be extra holes where the non original lid stay is fixed and I'd bet my neighbour's cat the lid will be scuffed and scratched to hell.Dulcetto wrote: Sat Jan 15, 2022 8:09 amAH -- that must be an example of the rare Keith Prowse version !! ha ! A 202 cabinet recently made £100 at auction, complete with an original motor board and non original no. 32 motor / turntable. Compared to that this "163" is pricey at £50.
