Re: Sir Harry Lauder posing with an HMV?
During late twenties and early thirties, HMV record sleeves carried these photos of artists with their machines... I believe it was prior to 1931, as among the machines it was featured many times the 101, yet not the 102. All the reentrants and the 145. I don't remember seeing the tabletops 130 nor 104, though... I've seen many of them, mainly British, but I've not seen all, of course. I have a French sleeve featuring Chevalier with a 101. I believe they're is a website that has done of these sleeves, but I don't remember where...
I remember the 101 carried by Chaliapin, and Rachmaninoff too. Elisabeth Schumann with a 163. Jack Hylton was also featured, don't remember the model.

Some years ago Harry Lauder's Edison Amberola 1 (can't remember whether it was a 1A or a 1B) appeared on The Antique Roadshow, complete with the auctioneer's catalogue from the estate sale after his death in 1950. Where is that machine now?

Now there's an HMV I would love to own.
