Columbia Records Ad: January 1909.

Post by Lenoirstreetguy »

Columbia takes a sharp stick and pokes both Edison and Victor in this ad. The subtext is " Your new Amberol records are WAY too delicate : our last FOREVER " and " that expensive Victor sounds way better with a Columbia double faced record on it." ;)

Yeah: if Edison had run with his celluloid patent, instead of trying to crush the competition, we might never have had to endure the Curse of the Amberol........ :-P

One of the Columbia demonstration discs has a statement something like "Hear the music the way it REALLY sounds- not like other companies THINK it should sound"
