Anything that's not a blue Amberol. There are a select few BAs that are interesting to me (mostly Polk Miller, with a few directly recorded BAs) but so many of them are dubbed that even the 5XXX series holds no appeal- why pay more for lower quality? I do enjoy the wax Amberols quite a bit, though, and I wish production had lasted longer.

Although I feel that for historical reasons no collection should be without an Edison machine, cylinders are a sideline for me.
Beginning with an Amberola 30 I have gradually upgraded to an Amberola 50, a Triumph and finally to an Opera.
I have never wanted to get involved with wax cylinders and their problems. Directly recorded BA's are all I need.
Having said that, the new owner of my Triumph has added a Model O reproducer to it's existing Diamond B.

I like 4 minutes records better. But yeah all the cranking on the 1 spring machines can be a pain in the butt sometimes…but hopefully that problem will be solved in June!

I just wish all the WA catalog made it to the more stable BA! Would have been nice to have Sophie Tucker, Irene Franklin, or Polk Miller on something a lil more stable.gunnarthefeisty wrote: Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:38 pm Anything that's not a blue Amberol. EDIT: oh wait Polk did made it to BA.
