HMV LEARNING TOOL

Post by gramophone78 »

First, I would ask that no members reply or add to this thread. As a member of this forum I truely think that it's purpose is to help and learn from others that share the same interest. If any of us can help one member from making a bad move or a good move on buying or selling. Then we have all gained something.
I have asked one of the largest and well repected dealers in Europe most of us know him, that has himself traveled and bought in India back in the day about the sign that has been in question.
At the same time I asked about the square and rough sign that is currently for sale on Ebay.
This morning I received the following two emails.First, regarding the square sign:

Wayne,
Yes I do believe that this sign is an original one but the condition

Is so bad that the value is low. I would have no customer for it.

Lately I have seen no signs at all on the market.

Guido

Now the email I received about the oval sign in question:

Wayne,

It looks like a repro from the 80.

The guy who made them died a few years ago.

I have not been able to buy new signs although I tried about a year ago.

Guido

What I did not know is the man that was making these has died. That means that there will not be anymore made and may become collectors items.
AGAIN, I stress that no members comment on this thread and if need be the moderator "lock" it.
