Re: Ugliest Crap-o-phone ever!
I wonder, a lot of these machines appear to have a genuine HMV logo taken from an HMV record album and pasted to the front of the machine. Are there that many albums still in India? Did they find a land fill full of albums?
Curiouser and curiouser.

Re: Ugliest Crap-o-phone ever!
I think they've just had the necessary decals remade. I've seen some horrible ones on my concert trips in India.
I've seen really bad metal Victor ID plates from Chinese machines that made me laugh out loud.
Have also seen fake G&T decals and some Columbia ones, too. I had to look a second time as I hadn't expected to see a G&T fake!

Here are the pics. Wow, a front mount crapophone, but still the standard ugly reproducer.
I brightened the 4th pic: look, they even put a real Victor needle tin on the record...

Thanks, Andreas! I couldn't save the pictures but am thrilled you did because that is a machine worthy of this gallery! Imagine the damage to that poor record after just one playing...

I'm imagining the damage to that machine after I remove the record and slam my (booted) foot down through the top of it!recordo wrote: Imagine the damage to that poor record after just one playing...

It also appears the case was re-varnished by a wild monkey.
The original shoe polish must have worn off I suppose.
