Hi
... and I am not using the word "Standard" as a regular adjective here. It is actually part of the brand name!
Does anyone know a bit about Columbia exporting (from the US) their outside horn disc models (1906-1910) and changing their scroll decals to indicate that the "manufacturer" was "The Standard Phonograph Co." This was news to me...

It sounds like one of the "client" machines Columbia built. They would put a different turntable with a larger spindle, so you could only use their records.

I thought that too, but these attractive open-horn machines - emblazoned "Standard Disc Graphophone" have the normal/usual style spindles, ¼" in diameter.

The turntables can be switched very easily between Columbias of that period and the Standard phonographs. Without a picture though it's hard for me to tell for sure.
