Stolen Opera Elbow

Post by KCW »

Been looking for a refinisher for my Opera elbow. Finally found one and it looks like the package was perhaps stolen. Anyhow, I took some photos before I shipped. I wanted to post here in case it ever reappears.

I don't know what to say except I'm sorry for your loss.

If someone stole the package without knowing what was inside, they may have no idea what they have got.
It might be worth keeping an eye on the usual on line auction sites in case it is offered for sale there.

Agreed. I’m keeping an eye out. If it shows up there are enough photos to match. Thank you everyone. I’ve never lost a package before - a sad first for me.

I see more and more stuff coming through UPS requiring a signature. This is probably why, and if it's something that can't be replaced it makes a great deal of sense although it sometimes makes for very unhappy customers. I had 17 packages stolen from my front porch a few years ago. I don't think the total value was over $45 and most of it was my brother's. He uses my house for a mailing address. I had won 4-5 Nellie Melba records on an auction and that was my loss out of the deal. We both laugh about the junk they ended up with. He had 10-12 packages of zip ties that were individually sent for some reason and I forget what the other stuff was now. It probably all got tossed into a ditch or dumpster and now I have the bottom half of a pump organ case out on my porch so it's easy to keep junk out of view. I'd ask your carrier if they've been having problems and make them trace the package. The GPS should tell them where it was dropped off. Once in awhile North will get mixed up with South, et. Hopefully it will be something simple like that. Good luck with that now, those things are very discouraging.

Hope it is not in transit through California----I saw a special where thieves were hopping on train cars, cutting the locks on containers and rummaging through packages keeping valuable items to sell and anything with no value to them just thrown on the tracks. It was a shame to see so much discarded ---debris all over as far as you could see. Wish you luck that it turns up and into your hands again.
