McLagan seems to have been a well respected Canadian-made off brand. At the last CAPS Zoom meeting (yes, I am now a member), a guy in Ontario gave a nice demo of his two McLagan machines. If I remember correctly he said McLagan used American-made components. One of the machines had a cool tone arm design with a rotating collar (prone to pot metal self-destruction) at the base of the tone arm that is turned to change the tracking force for standard laterally cut records, Pathé's and Edisons. The McLagan here below does not have this arm.
