WANTED: Legs for a VV-360 Upright Victrola

I just picked up a 1924 VV-360 Victrola (similar to the one in the attached photos) in decent working condition but with the legs cleanly cut off. I see the ¾" leg dowel holes for attaching the the legs at the bottom. Having the leg cross support structure would be great but can live with just having the 4 missing legs. Does anyone have these legs or some similar legs that would work?

I think your best bet is to go to the "Links" section of our Forum, click on "Parts & Repairs" and click on "Great Lakes Phono Co." Good luck on your restoration on a very worthy Victrola.

the bottom of those legs are fairly detailed when you see them up close. If you can't find the correct legs, I would watch for a late 20's or early 30's radio set that has legs about the correct height. The console version of that machine would probably work for the part of the foot below the stretcher, but they would be too long otherwise. I had a C-2 Edison cabinet and oddly enough I had a set of legs from a Majestic Radio/phonograph from about 1930-31 and the entire leg base was almost a perfect fit! Anyone that knew what was supposed to be there would have known they weren't right, but paying someone to make something like that can easily run into a lot of money. Good luck with that project. It sounds like getting the original legs is going to be close to impossible. George from Great Lakes Phonograph Company just told me he diesn't have them and hasn't ever owned a VV-360. And just found out only 285 of them were produced. So, I'll have to find some other similar legs from an old radio cabinet like Earl mentioned. I did find a VV'-405 console model for sale in nice shape, but would hate to kill it by cutting the legs without the stretcher. My search continues!

This would make a local cabinetmaker very happy to work on, by the way--a bit of work with a lathe would be pretty effective to make some new legs.

And the 20s/30s radio legs are another good suggestion as many old radio cabinets survive missing their original mechanisms.

Does anyone have a VV-360 and willing to take closeup photos of the legs and length measurements to have a better idea of the details to possibly have someone make a reproduction?

I don't have a 360, but according to "Look for the Dog" by Robert Baumbach, the cabinet's measurements were:

44.25 inches high
21.5 inches wide
23.0 inches deep

Comparing the height of your cabinet with the above will at least give you an idea of how long the original legs were. Hopefully someone will supply some detailed photos and measurements of the legs and stretchers.

The cabinet is about 36" high without the legs. So, the legs should be about 8" high.

So, I ended up installing some furniture 8 inch legs I got from Amazon. I know it doesn't have the cross support but at least the phonograph looks more presentable now.
