Brian Rust no longer with us

Post by syncopeter »

Guys,

On another forum I saw the message that Brian Rust has passed away last week. He had been in ill health for some time.
Discographer extra-ordinaire: he edited and produced no less than 10 big volumes and enravelled an enormous amount of mysteries around recording sessions, aliases and participating musicians. By his meticulous research he was able to prove that some so-called line-ups simply couldn't be true because people were 1000s of miles away in a particular sessions.
No-one can underestimate the sheer amount of work he did for record collectors all around the word. Being a music archivist by trade helped of course, but still it is incredibly what he achieved.
Thanks to his work I found literally thousands of recordings that I otherwise never would have found.

Brian, may you rest in peace, you really deserve it.

Peter.
