GEM Mainspring
I'm in the process of restoring a maroon GEM.......the mainspring is pretty weak and I plan to replace it. There is a good bit of grease and gunk on the existing mainspring so I was wondering if I should lubricate the new one in any way? it is my first experience with a machine that has no spring barrel to pack new grease into.

Re: GEM Mainspring
Yes, it needs lubrication. I use Amsoil synthetic-multi-purpose-grease. When I switched to the high strength synthetic I was able to get a little extra playtime from one winding.
