Busy Bee
Is there a way to play regular 78s on a Busy Bee? I always see them on this board without the metal tab in place on the turntable. I'm thinking about buying one. The guy wants $400 for it.

Re: Busy Bee
Ooooh, looks like a nice machine for $400.
I believe there are normally configured turntables available that fit the Busy Bee.
Try JAS Antique Phonographs (ladanjus on ebay). They have other repro turntables available and may be able to help you.
Or, since Bysy Bee was manufactured by Columbia, perhaps a Columbia turntable will just drop on.

I believe that model was produced by Hawthorne & Sheble.

The horn looks repainted, but it still is very pretty (imo). I will go look up ladanjus on ebay, thanks. So one guy is selling a few machines because he is getting ready to retire. I will try to buy at least 1 outside horn machine. He is selling a Harmony model 10, a busy bee, and a Victor O for $700.

I believe the Busy Bee turntable lug is just held on by two screws. If so, just remove it and place it inside the cabinet for safe keeping.

Thanks. I'm driving out Thursday to check out the machines and hopefully get one.JerryVan wrote: Fri Apr 22, 2022 4:09 pm I believe the Busy Bee turntable lug is just held on by two screws. If so, just remove it and place it inside the cabinet for safe keeping.
