In my head all these green Q’s seem to date to 1904? Is my guesstimate good?

I believe these green Qs carry award decals on their backs dated for Milan in 1906. The banner decals are no earlier than 1905.

I guess I musta been looking at this photo once and that cemented the idea in my head!  Lol. I’m not as knowledgeable about Columbia machines probably because I only have two of them.

Was the horn stand on this machine original or a modification? Like how later Gems had a place for a stand to hold larger sized horn? Or is this something like H&S would sell for someone who wanted a louder horn?

For anyone interested, there's a ton of information to be garnered from my research thread, here:

The additional horn crane and mount would've most likely been an accessory produced by a 3rd party. I'm not aware that American Graphophone/Columbia manufactured the scant few devices for mounting a larger horn on Qs.

I could be wrong, and would appreciate any proof of the co. manufacturing those devices in-house.

You're correct, Fran. The pictured crane (and many others) was manufactured by Hawthorne & Sheble.

Some great little machines and they really don't sound bad if set up correctly.. Starting to have second thoughts on even selling mine at this point..

Thanks again to all that contributed to my post..
