FOR SALE: Works from an RE-45, $150 obo

Post by VanEpsFan1914 »

Hello folks- -

I took all the internal workings out of Victor RE-45 no. 109xxx when I was moving at short notice. There's an intact loudspeaker, radio, amplifier chassis, turntable deck (with rebuilt motor) and all umbilicals, etc., in good shape. I was also able to get the original gold tapestry grill cloth out in good shape, along with the screws to hold that in--on this model it is a board with all the cloth attached there.
I would like to figure out who needs these more than I do. The cabinet was in marginal condition & would have needed new doors to ever be right again as the old ones had cupped badly, so I took it apart as I did not have time to bring it (I had to move in comparative haste.)

Anyway the electrical equipment from it is safe for whoever needs it. I do not think I will need these pieces.

They are located in Connecticut.

How I wish I could get this to complete my HMV RE-45.
I doubt it'd survive the trip to Australia though, and even if it did I'd imagine postage would double the price for me ☹️

Well, "best offer" does mean "best offer," and I'd just as soon see it go to complete a machine. Let me know if you'd like it, Shane, & I'm sure I can eventually figure out how to get it wherever. Do you have the empty case of an RE-45, or a machine just missing a few small parts?

These have nice vacuum-tubes and what-not as well, and the original owner's manual. I'd prefer to get rid of these pieces so they can go fix something else. I've shipped veneer to France before, so if we scale up distance & packing--maybe it'd work!
