Was browsing facebook marketplace, happened upon a nice victrola, been wanting one for a long time to go with my Edison Standard Phonograph
Nabbed this one for 40 bucks. i made up a bamboo needle and it plays so nice.
Still learning about them though. I swear i was born in the wrong time. Im building a step by step telephone exchange, got my grandpas Rock-Ola Jukebox and the Edison Phonograph, and collect VHS
Im 40 and its just a blast
Hope I did good for 40 bucks

You did great for $40. There's great info on the board about how to clean it up (and what not to do), how to service the motor, how to rebuild the reproducer, etc. Enjoy!

Really nice and at a great price. I got one last year from Yuma, Arizona for $100 but the owner had pulled all the album dividers out and made it into a bar. The Phonograph plays great and with the help of other members I have made some improvements. The forum members are great and really helpful. Enjoy your Phonograph.

I'd love to have Grinnell Bros tagged machine - my dad ran the Toledo, Ohio stores in the 50s, 60s and 70s

Nice VV-XIV. $40 is a great deal! I’ve paid more for lesser machines.
I’m 32 and I know how it is to be younger and into vintage tech that most people in my generation has never heard or seen in person. Really cool you got a rock ola jukebox!

Great deal for $40! Similar machines usually sell for about $150 near me. The Victor VV-XIV is a pretty solid machine and can be worked on somewhat easily.

Your house and mine may be similar, I've got a Victrola VXI and a Rockola 490-2 jukebox in my dining room. One of my son's friends was over last night and asked me how many record players I have in the house... I honestly couldn't tell him.
