Edison Cygnet horn--reproduced?
A friend showed me an Edison Cygnet horn that, if original, had clearly be repainted with new decals applied. However, it's in such immaculate shape that I now wonder if it may be a reproduction. So that's my question: Has the entire Edison Cygnet horn been reproduced?

Reproductions have been made since at least the 1980's all the way through til today.
Some are better than others though.

Re: Edison Cygnet horn--reproduced?
My Triumph Model A, since sold and replaced by an Opera, had a reproduction 11 panel Cygnet horn and crane made in New Zealand.
The maker took his manufacturing secrets to the grave, but the very helpful New Zealand Phonograph Society has some information.
Unfortunately the crane was copied from a Standard, so it never hung quite right on the Triumph. A previous owner had fitted a second hanger to the horn which improved matters a little, as pictured :

I certainly hope they’re reproduced better than the Triumph speed yoke reproduction I got!

Thanks, everyone. I am now reasonably certain my friend has a reproduction horn.
