Edison End Gate Clip

Post by Loudbass »

I took my Standard B off the shelf the other day to play some cylinders and discovered to my horror that the retaining clip on the end gate had been snapped off. How and when that happened is a mystery! I was wondering how fixable this is. Does the brass knob unscrew so that a new clip can be attached? It seems pretty solidly fixed. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Did you get your end gate apart? I might have a clip if you need one.

That’s very kind. I haven’t got it apart yet, but presume it does unscrew with a little encouragement? I would be very grateful for a clip if you do have one. I am in the UK. Just let me know if it’s possible to get it to me and how to pay for it and postage.
Thanks!

Send me a PM with your shipping address. I have no idea what it will cost to ship. Maybe someone on your side of the pond will respond and help?

I did find a loose clip. I checked my other end gates and the little knob just unscrews to take the clip off. Maybe use a little heat from a hair dryer to loosen yours up. I can send you this clip if you get yours off. Not sure how much shipping will be to the UK though.
