SOLD : Berliner Hand Wind Cord - $10.00

Post by Shawn »

Folks,

I think I have found the closest solution for Berliner Hand Wind phonograph replacement cords. Throughout the years, many methods have been tried - string, leather, rubber. However, the catalog describing the directions for assembling and operating the Seven-inch Hand Gramophone gives a clear description of the cord.

I have found the appropriate cloth covered elastic cord. The catalog is silent on how to connect the two ends. The best, most non-conspicuous method that provides a firm attachment I have found is a small section of heat shrink tubing.

Here is what the final product looks like:

The joined section flows smoothly over both sets of pulleys and is hardly noticeable.

What I am offering today is a 32" section of the cloth covered pulley cord, enough for any hand wind Berliner, and a small section of heat shrink tubing. You'll need to cut the cord to length, depending on how much tension you desire on the cord, and then put the two ends of the cord into the heat shrink tubing, and shrink it with a hair dryer until it is tight. Here is what you will receive:

The price is $10.00 shipped to you in the US. PayPal friends and family is preferred.

Thank you
