Welp I hope this will fix the blues from yesterday.
Looking at photos on eBay. I determined that many of these motors are interchangeable. So I pulled the handle on this one.
It also appears to be quite filthy, but the seller posted a video of this motor working. And it also comes with the tracking rack. I’ll put this one on to replace the bent original and hopefully, finally, be Done with it!
FINALLY My first machine of 2021!

Or, you could just take the whole old motor out and just drop this new one in...AmberolaAndy wrote: Wed Jul 06, 2022 11:14 am

That’s what I’m planning to do. (Hopefully it shows up without any damage)52089 wrote: Wed Jul 06, 2022 11:43 amOr, you could just take the whole old motor out and just drop this new one in...AmberolaAndy wrote: Wed Jul 06, 2022 11:14 am

Anyway this has been a learning experience (even if it didn’t work out the way I wanted to.) I’m confident about working with Diamond Disc machines now.

The motor show up and seems to work pretty good. BUT one thing.
There is part of the horn and feed rack that became Desoldered from the previous machine this motor was on stuck on the post. I took the screws off of it and it’s Stubborn pulling it off…should I just tap it off and it should come off?

The set screw on the leaf spring ring (on the lift post just below the turntable) seems to still be there. Loosen that screw and remove that assembly. If you still can't remove the lifting mechanism, put some penetrating oil on the appropriate spots, wait a bit and try again.

Yeah I took all those screws off that part. Not coming off with force.52089 wrote: Mon Jul 11, 2022 6:02 pm The set screw on the leaf spring ring (on the lift post just below the turntable) seems to still be there. Nothing ever comes easy when I do these things.

That's not the spot I'm talking about. Look at the attached - there is a set screw still in place on the leaf spring. If you want to remove the lift mechanism, you have to loosen this first.

Ok I have done as said here and took that screw out.52089 wrote: Mon Jul 11, 2022 6:38 pm That's not the spot I'm talking about. Look at the attached - there is a set screw still in place on the leaf spring. If you want to remove the lift mechanism, you have to loosen this first.
What do I do next?
That part is still stuck on there. Do I get a mallet?

Soak it in penetrating oil, then try a mallet. You could also try heat or cold first if you don't have penetrating oil around.

Oh I got the oil but I need to find where the mallet is.52089 wrote: Mon Jul 11, 2022 8:11 pm Soak it in penetrating oil, then try a mallet. You could also try heat or cold first if you don't have penetrating oil around.
