ODD Edison Gem Metal Cloth Mystery Item!
Anyone know what this is?? I posted on FB and no one really seems to know! Thanks!!

If I were to guess it was used for screen printing.

Probably part of an old wood stove. Why does that not look like cloth to me?

Very fine wire mesh screen. Used for printing the logo on the machine body. A similar screen was used for the 'signature' logo on bedplates and such.ArtH wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 12:00 pm Probably part of an old wood stove. Why does that not look like cloth to me?

Not to sure about that... if you were going to print with this screen...the image would be the negative...ie nothing where the ink would go. These images are positive. I think they were printed on for some reason...or it may even be a decal.

I agree with Gregg. The Triumph-style corner decoration certainly looks like a decal. The CLPGS issued decals in the late 1970s that are quite similar to these.
