My latest Edison Ad

Post by Edisonfan »

Okay, I wanted to show off my latest Edison Ad. I bought this last year, from an antique mall, that is out of business. I have it hanging behind my Edison two minute machine. Where I previously had a reproduction tin ad.

Looks like a nice piece. Any chance of getting a transcipt of the copy up on the board here?

That might be a bit tricky, as I had the ad custom framed. So I can not remove it. Also, it is to big for my scanner. I could try coping it by hand, but that is time consuming.

Yes, that looks like a lot of typing to get that in by hand, but that's one of the fascinating things about ads from this time period. They're so wordy. To think that people actually took the time to read all that! How different from nowadays when most ads consist of a brightly colored graphic and a briefly worded emotional appeal.
