WANTED: Electrola volume control / control knob
If you have for sale either a volume control suitable for an early electrola (a 9-55 in this case) or a suitable control knob which is pictured below please contact me by PM as I am after one for my machine.

Re: WANTED: Electrola volume control / control knob
I googled up "antique radio parts" and got a few kazillion hits which might be worth tracking down. It seems that there are lots of sources for reproduction knobs. Perhaps a source such as George Vollema would have an original.

Re: WANTED: Electrola volume control / control knob
Hi,
i've sent you a pm regarding the knob and control. I've just looked up this machine in my copy of "Look for the dog" I see this model had the same raddiola 28 as the 9-55 and electric record reproduction - although the tube line up is different to the 9-55 as the 9-40 has a UX120, UV876 and 2 UX216B tubes where as the 9-55 had a UX210 2 times UX281s and a different ballast tube.. Looks like a lovely machines.
I see that this model has the dual tone arm to allow for either acoustic and electical reprodution. Did these suffer from being made of pot metal? I've heard that these dual arms are often broken.
