Unusual (to me) Columbia reproducer -- what is it?

I found this recently in a box of parts I've had forever, and don't believe I've ever seen another one like it. I have a faint notion it may have come from an early Grafonola Deluxe (the one with the lion heads), but I could well be wrong. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

In response to the PM, the reproducer head measures approximately 2.25" in diameter, and the neck measures approximately .75" in diameter. Both are outside measurements.

I'd still love to learn more -- which, at this point, would be anything at all -- about this reproducer. Theories welcome, too.

I think you are on target there. I bought a Reginaphone 240 (lionshead) about a year ago. I took photos of different parts when I bought it. My machine had been in the same family for 70 + years. The reproducer definitely needed new gaskets. Except for maybe a paper insert behind the mica, mine looks to be exactly like yours. You line it up against the tone arm with the needle chuck in the 3:00 o'clock position then go counter clockwise back to a 7:00 o'clock position. I took photos but can't upload them due to file size.
