Victor Schoolhouse model lid support rod

I'm putting a Victor Schoolhouse model back in order. Nearly done, but then noticed the lid support bar was gone. There were the screw holes, two on the case and two on the lid, but no support bar anywhere. Gone.

Would it be possible for a Forum member to take a photo of this support rod and post it? I would also like to know it's length. My question is, is this support rod the same one used for other, more common models like the VV-IX? If so, I may then entertain hopes of finding one for this Schoolhouse model.

John, I just replaced one on a project Schoolhouse myself. It came from a VV VIII and was identical. It is 5.5 inches long. I’ll try and get a photo later for you. Meanwhile I hope this gets you going on your search.

Hi John-- If, as Wes says, you need a support 5 ½" long, I have a few of them. I can send you one for postage cost-- or feel free to stop by. It would be good to see you again.

Yes I believe you are correct, but I checked with the three that I own and all have the same lid support. Not saying that there’s not one out there that’s different.
