Wanted: Gold Seal Phonograph Repeater
Someone listed recently one for trade - I had never heard of these. Checked them out on YouTube and thought they were amazing! Would love to have one. Can these also be used on diamond discs? I’ve got a Vic Vand Victrola 8-9 as well. Thanks for considering!

There is a listing on the Yankee Trader posted on August 22 where one is being offered for sale or trade.

I would not use this on a DD machine. It makes the needle run along the steel groove. The diamond might be marred by this... Besides that, it works thanks to the free movement of a standard tonearm. The DD tonearm runs by means of a feed screw. You'd need to disengage it at the end of the record to free the movement, and reengage it at the end of the transverse run.... Very complex.

And as for using it on the DD records themselves, even if it were on a machine with a vertical adaptor, the diamond stylus would still be at risk. Some of those repeaters are pretty scary to watch in action...Inigo wrote: Sat Aug 27, 2022 10:42 am I would not use this on a DD machine. It makes the needle run along the steel groove. Gold Seal Record Repeaters have a brass ‘grommet’ with a rubber band around it that locks onto the edge of the record to spin the repeater. A Diamond Disc won’t fit into the grommet. It’s designed for lateral 78’s.
