Victrola portable identification

Post by nostalgia »

Can someone help me identifying this Victrola portable? It is for sale in my area.
I have checked this website http://www.mulhollandpress.com/styled-2 ... index.html but am still not able to identify it from the photos on the website...
Thanks a lot in advance.

Looks very similar to a 2-60 but there are anomalies, like the turntable clip.

It sure looks like a VV 2-60 to me as well. Removing the turntable should reveal a tag with the model number.

Thank you for the help. I can't remove the turntable since the machine is not in my possession, but it for sure looks like a VV 2-60.

That's definitely a VV-2-60, see: http://www.victor-victrola.com/2-60.htm

That was the deluxe model prior to the introduction of the Orthophonic VV-2-55. Restored, it pumps out a full, rich sound, with a nice hint of bass. There are a number of YouTube videos that feature the 2-60.
