Touch up A250 bed plate
Has anyone figured out how to touch up the paint on a Edison diamond disk bed plate? I would not strip off the entire plate, but finding the right paint is difficult.

Depends what you mean by successful. I once met a guy who "successfully" painted a victor machine black and then used polyurethane on top of that. He thought the value went up after he did that and was crushed to learn the oppositeJerry B. wrote: Fri Sep 30, 2022 8:52 pm Has anyone seen such a touch up that was successful?

As you say, it all comes down to color matching, and aslo a very steady hand. Consult your local artists I'd say.

It’s not paint, it’s tinted shellac.
