Help With Wood Horn

Post by tictalk »

I have a Victor Wood Horn that needs a little help, I would appreciate any suggestions on the best way to repair. What I am planning on doing is removing the two-piece horn end, making repairs to the end of the horn by adhering new wood strips to the horn then re-crimping the two-piece ring back together. I have not attempted to remove the two-piece ring as of yet. I have two questions. 1. Is there a better plan than the afore mentioned? 2 Is there a tool that could be repurposed to un crimp the two-piece horn end? Thanks For Your Help Larry

I have often wondered how these two piece ends were crimped together. Hopefully someone responds. Does Don Gfell use the same style ends? Maybe he would know?
