The seller was adamant that he would not post the machine, but with 24 hours to go and no bids he changed his mind.
Postage is now offered for £35 :!: and the bids are at last coming in.

Well ................. that didn't go for much. I mean £270 ????

Some may say it isn't in the best of condition - but £ 270.

Seems very cheap to me.

It was incredibly cheap. And yet a fairly common and rather boring blue, red or green 101 can regularly fetch anything between £150 and £200. The market is bizarre. When a 202 is estimated between £250-350 by reputable auctioneers whilst Ebay is full of 163's listed at £600-750!

Time to pack up and go home.........

Many potential bidders will have seen that postage was not offered and dismissed the machine, unaware that the seller later changed his mind. That is why it sold for half the sum which my example made not so long ago.
Packing and posting a portable is neither difficult nor expensive, but still some people will not be told.

I am very pleased to be the lucky buyer and can also say it arrived in excellent order having been well packaged. I am told it has not been used for many decades so will require a full service but plays quite well at present. The leather handle with Patent stamp is present but the ends have broken---an easy repair.

Well done Graham. In all honesty this example looks better than mine, which I sold for double the price you paid.

Congratulations Graham. A very fine example of a rare and very desirable machine.

If anyone can steal it I'm at least glad one of us lot secured it! ;)
