The electric fan is an absolute gem. I love it. What kind of AC to DC transformer are you using for it? I really like the fact that an 'Edison' light bulb is used in series as a resistor to regulate the fan speed.

While Santa didn't bring me any phonographs, I went out and acquired some on my own:

Fist up is a 1920 VV-XIV in what I think is English Brown Mahogany. I does not have the same color as my XI which is Red Mahogany. It currently has a broken spring, which I am waiting on parts to repair. The cabinet was cleaned and refreshed with kotton klenser.

Second is a Pathé Frères VII That has a few issues. I picked it up really cheap ($25) but it has a broken spring and needs a reproducer. A Pathé Concert came with it, but the outer pot metal ring disintegrated in my hand. I am currently looking for a replacement (preferably at minimal cost).

They are both currently in my basement while I work on them. Just because I could, I set up my studio strobes for the pictures. These were taken with a 3 light set up.

Just a simple bridge rectifier wired in-line.

Your XIV cleaned up very nicely... you can really see the nice wood grain, on the side in particular. Sometimes those old mahogany finishes get so dark they become almost black.

As far as the replacement reproducer for the Pathé goes, if you cannot find one available on one of the different phono forums, you know what they always say... you can find anything on Ebay. ;) Besides, sometimes the hunt is almost just as much fun as the catch! :rose:
