*Amalgamate the finish. ‘Reamalgamating’ implies that it had already been amalgamated when reamalgamation was attempted.
I could try it but for such a rare machine I don’t know.

I don't think anyone was suggesting that this cabinet needs anything that is not already done. Just clarifying a refinishing term. If it looks as good in person as it does in the pictures, I'd leave it and enjoy it as it is right now.

Ok I’ll be getting it later this week or next week the seller had something come up at work so I’ll won’t be getting it tomorrow.

I showed the seller my schedule for the next week and haven’t heard a word outta them for almost two days. My anxiety is flaring up but I don’t wan’t to be rude or bother them if something serious happened with the seller because life happens when you least expect it. :| 😐

It’s funny how these machines can consume us, (I can relate). I hope that it works out well for you.

Ok I agreed with the seller and my stepdad that I will be coming down to Lincoln on Wednesday.👍

This should work out better than them coming to me.

Reading the Victor Data Book and doing a bit of math I’ve made a hypothesis of July 1911 being the manufacture date.

XIV 501 to about 4995 had been made between 9/1910 and 6/1911.

1,907 XIV Machines were made between 7/1911 and 9/1911, this machine 5472 being one of them.

I wish there were more information about specific months which machines have been shipped instead of quarterly.

I've owned one of these before and would love to own one again, but 20+ hours round trip puts a damper on desire. Still, if anyone is heading near Memphis from Lincoln, let me know. Price Plus delivery costs is definitely an option!
