Brunswick 212 Top

Post by BigC »

I was in Palm Desert at a antique shop and a Brunswick 212 found its way to my truck. The top does not stay open. So is there a way to adjust the tension on it? I've looked on YouTube but haven't found anything yet on fixing this problem on this particular model. Anyone has any experience fixing this? Thanks

I would venture a guess that the lid spring is broken. I have had that problem with a few brunswicks in the past. Not sure if you can get a replacement for it though.

You can look by unscrewing that nickel plate, unscrewing it from the lid and lifting the mechanism out. You will be able to see whether or not it is broken.

Thank you David! I pulled the motor out and the spring was missing. Fortunately it was still inside the machine with a smaller spring that went to the automatic break. It is working perfectly fine now. Thank you so much.
