It is very cheap. I hope somebody checks out and get it. It is very rare model.

A decent (not neccesarily cheap) price for that model. I wish it were closer!

Perhaps prices are still falling, but the price is about half of what I would value a Cortez, which really doesn't show up every day.

I have this model in very good condition. I listened to it frequently comparing with my HMV 202 and Credenzas. The motor is very quiet and sounds fantastic. How many of you have experiences listening to this fantastic instrument?

I also have one and love its sound as well. It's even perfectly silent to wind it and to apply the brake. A beautifully made machine!

I have one with an electric motor (original Brunswick). The sound is good, although not comparable to a reentrant, and its design has a major flaw: the link between soundbox and arm is through a hard metal connection, with no rubber interface to dampen unwanted vibrations. This causes too much wear to records, so I do not utilize very frequently.

I also think $400 is quite reasonable for this Cortez.

With the HMV 511 in NC, and the Sonora Symphony in TN, some great opportunities are out there.

The recent Stanton’s auction a Amberola 1b went for $550. I guess one has to be in the right place at the right time!

I know that there is some tracking error on the model. What kind of needles do you use? Of course steel needles cause some damages on the groove. I use fiber needle, especially susudake needles, which won't cause so much damages on the groove if you combine them with Ibota wax, which is used also so expensive Japanese swords (Katana).
