FRANCIS BEAUMONT JAMES (FRANK).

Post by old country chemist »

GreetiNgs All of you on the Forum. I hope some of you were remembering that our old friend Frank James died two years ago, on December 15th 2020.
A never to be forgotten giant in the world of EMG and Expert, Cascade, etc.
Long may your memory live on. dear chap. in the world of gramophonics!

Here is Frank's last Christmas card, written just days before he died. The message reads :

"Good gramophone hunting in 2021! Think I have at last sold Brook Farm, then if all goes well, it's off to my lovely stone tower with my showman's wagon _ far from the madding crowd!"

Sadly Frank never got to see 2021, but our friendship will never be forgotten.

Roger.

Indeed. I sat in that wagon with Frank discussing the refit just 2 months before he passed away. I was hoping he'd get to see his next project through. He certainly looked well at the time which made his passing such a shock.

Anyway, let's remember the happy times we recall in his company.

RIP Frank.

Thank you for that - very honoured that he autographed my copy of his book. Grateful to have met the great man.
