Victor Motor ID help please...

Hi All- I have a a three spring Victor motor with the yielding turntable spindle--- such as seen in a Victor V, VI and some VTLAs... see pics below

What has me scratching my head is the pinned winding shaft for a slotted crank. I've checked with a couple of other collectors. Trying to figure out when the yielding turntable came to be used and was there an overlap with the slotted crank motors? Also, in what machine was this most likely used?

My Victor VI has a slotted crank motor. Serial number is 600.

Thanks Ken-- Does your VI (serial 600) have the same motor as I pictured above?
I recently sold my early Vic 6 (serial 1212). It had a slotted crank but had the early nickel plated spur type motor as pictured below.

I'll also add that my early Vic 6 (1212) had the 9 arm "spider" bearing as was discussed in another recent thread-- The current motor I'm asking about has the solid disc/spindle for the yielding turntable. I borrowed the "spider" picture below from that other thread-- Hope that was OK.

The turntable that we commonly refer to as the "yielding turntable" was patented as a "tilting turn table", (two words in the patent). The patent was applied for in early 1907 and the "Tilting Turn Table" appeared on the 1906 Pooley VTLA. The ball bearing supported turntable was actually patented earlier and as a "yielding turntable". I believe that there was some overlap with the slotted crank and the worm drive motor into 1907, (the 1906 Pooley VTLA had a spur and bevel gear motor, but the later Pooly VTLA of 1907 had the worm drive liken the one that started this thread). Thanks Django--- I think we can safely say it's a motor from the later 1907 Pooley. I just found on the Intertique site, that Lynn pictures a Pooley and shows the motor. It's the same motor I pictured in my first post, with the shaft for a slotted crank.

The second style Victor 6 had the worm drive motor and tilting turn table. Some may have had the slotted crank as well. This is just my best guess, maybe someone knows for certain.

This motor looks very similar to the one in my Vic 6, Serial #5765. Mine has the yielding turntable and 4 rubber bumpers.

Thanks Everyone for the education- Much appreciated. After over 46 years of collecting, there is still much to learn.

So it is apparent that the yielding/tilting turntable motor with a slotted crank was used in both the 1907 Pooley VTLA and in some Victor 6 machines (and by deduction, in Victor 5's?)

As usual, the forum is a great place to gather information for our great hobby!

Did the early Victor V have a tilting, or yielding turntable? The Victor D was a V in the catalogs. The D didn’t’ t have a yielding or tilting turntable. I have an early D, but not the later version or a machine that has a V on the nameplate.
