WANTED: Key for Double Salter Lock

Just restored this oak double Salter cylinder cabinet, looking for a key that will operate the locks. Attached is a pick of a key that sort of works but is certainly not a period key or correct. Thanks in advance for any help! GSS

I have had pretty good luck with an antique dealer near me. He has a box of cabinet keys. He lets me take the box home and try the keys to see which one works on my record cabinets. I just return the box and pay for what I used. Maybe ask around with antique dealers in your area to see if they have a supply of cabinet keys.

Good Morning-

Here are a few pictures of the key that came with my Salter when I acquired it many years ago. To be honest, I am not sure it is the original key but it locks and unlocks the cabinet when needed. I have to wiggle it slightly to get it in position in the keyway but once seated it rotates the lock 360 degrees with no issues. I forgot to take a picture of the end of the key but it is what I believe is referred to as a barrel key as the shank is a hollow tube.

I have a very similar key. Shank OD is 0.17". ID is 0.12". Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
