Bob Cole R.I.P.

Post by Raphael »

I have confirmed news of the passing of Bob Cole (no relation to me). In recent years, pre-COVID, Bob was the promoter and organizer of the Orlando Phonograph Show. I knew Bob for many years; he was always a cheerful and honest fellow who loved the phonograph hobby immensely. He was a pleasure to deal with and a fine human being.

I'm sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I have sold several phonographs to him over the years. He was a true gentleman. May his memory be a blessing.

Raphael, I appreciate the update.

I had been in touch with Bob a few times of the past year just checking in with him and he was still buying Victrola parts till a few months ago. He sounded great and was as positive a guy as you could be regarding the situation. He will be missed by the hobby.

Sorry to hear the news.

We are sorry to hear the passing of Bob Cole. If anyone attended the Florda antique shows, you realized the love he had for the phonograph hobby. He and Richard Brown organzied the last number of Florida shows. Organizing shows is a labor of love for the hobby. Bob put many hours into the planning, advertisiing and setting up the Florida show.

He welcomed vendors and collectors with a smile and grand hello and appreciation. He was always very accommodating to vendors. We can thank Bob for the many memories of the Florida show and his dedication to the phonograph hobby.

Our thanks and sympathy to his family.

I am so sorry to read of Bob's passing. Bob was such a positive and optimistic person. Bob and Richard's Orlando show was so fun and welcoming. At one show I noticed a motel guest straining her neck to see what was going on in the show. I'm sure she was just a regular motel guest with no obvious interest in phonos but Bob invited her in without collecting a dime. When questioned he replied that you never know and maybe someone will make a sale. At the very least he made a friend. That was Bob at his best. We will miss you.

The phonograph community lost a significant member and show promoter. Bob’s two sons lost their wonderful Dad, their coach and their mentor. And I lost a dear friend. Rest in Peace, Bob. Prayers go out to his family and friends.
