The Seller probably looked up a price for an early electric Panatrope full-sized and used that as their model.
I think the is the first disc machine I've seen where the reproducer faces away from the crank side of the machine...

But note how they cleverly put the thumb-screw facing the same way as on other phonos. I had actually forgotten that, so I couldn't put my finger on WHY it didn't feel awkward to change needles on this one !De Soto Frank wrote:The Seller probably looked up a price for an early electric Panatrope full-sized and used that as their model.

Another fun fact of this model : Hafta remove 16 little screws, to get into the guts for oiling. Not much more bother than with other portos, and these are metal-on-metal: no worry about stripping holes in cheap wooden cabinet parts!
ps - Don't let me praise this Brunswick too highly; I still want to find a second one without paying too much !

Golly-terwilligers and shucky-doodle! She also managed to spell Victrola three different ways (it's "Victrolla" in the heading of the listing). I already sent her one of my infamous Know-It-All messages about an hour ago.

The sad thing is I would love to add a 17 to my collection but the price
has to be reasonable. Apparently the ad was mistyped the first time and said $449
which is not a bad deal. I came in lower as I usually do at $300 just to
see what happens. To my horror the seller said "here is the revised ad" with
the astronomical price.
