I have absolutely no idea why people do this... but one can only hope the veneer is still on the top and sides. If you feel up to a big project here you go! I love how it even says (restored) in the listing title

At that price, restoring it would be a labor of love, I'm afraid. A forum member was selling original pulls for a while.

For what it's worth... I paid more than this for the full barrel I am restoring. I would be willing to bet you could haggle with the seller.

Looks like they stripped it first, so all the paint is well into the grain _ lots of scrubbing to be done.
