The SOUSA Talkophone has always been considered the top-of-the-Line for Talkophone phonographs. This is one is the top-of-the-top. The Sousa
Talkophone Deluxe was special because of the 18” arm and some gold-plated parts. The horn is all brass and measures 26” long and 17.5” wide at the bell. The motor is the large 3-spring motor which in this case has been fully serviced and springs regreased. The horn is nearly perfect except for a pin hole in the rim seam at the end of the bell. It is the largest Talkophone horn made. The platter felt is original.

As with all Talkophones, they did not have a set speed so you control that with the speed lever until you get the desired sound, voice or music.

I’ve only seen two of these in over 45 years of collecting. The case is nearly flawless with sharp details. If you are seeing this on the forum, you probably know the Sousa Talkophone was one of the most ornate phonographs ever manufactured in the United States. You most likely will not see a better one. As you can imagine, this one came from a private collection.
