Nice machine! And I enjoyed the Berliner, too!
By spring I hope to get one of those infinitely variable turntables - some of the early records (G&T's, etc.) play at odd speeds. I've got a 1902 G&T that plays at 67.92, according to the book. My Victor is fine - I use a strobe - but the Empire won't do that. The Rec-o-Kut I'm looking at will, so no more chipmuncks, once I get it.

I my M78S about ten years ago but have second Bob's post. I was never very satisfied. The cartridge itself is quite good but the original stylus provided with it was so fragile and would only allow a tracking weight of 3g. A slightly warped record would cause the stylus to jump.
However, if you prefer late 78's from the 40's and 50's the M78S is a real good selection. I still haven't found any more robust cartridge in the same price range than the Stanton 500. Official tracking weight of 5-7g is great for earlier records.
For vinyl I prefer to use my 1970's Shure M75-6 which I took from my parent's turntable, the cartridge I literally grew up with.
