$275.00 for an Edison Long Play Record
So, I was scrolling through eBay looking for records, when i found an Edison Long Play Diamond Disc for $275.00. Is this about right for one of these records?

You didn't indicate size or condition or title, so it's hard to answer your question.
For $275, I would expect a 12" record in near mint condition that plays through with very few skips. They can go higher than that because really clean 12" examples are very hard to find. I have paid around $100 for semi-playable examples with skips and wear.
I have generally paid around $100 or so for decent 10" long plays. They are easier to find in good shape.

Yea! I should’ve done that!
Here is the seller’s description: “ Antique EDISON Diamond Disc Phonograph Record 10" Long Play 10003 Gold Label great for display in the collection. Both sides show wear and scratches. The L side has considerable scratches at the beginning. There is an original long play sleve going along with this record. The sleeve has wear, loss, yellowing and tape along the bottom. Check out the photo's for condition. “

That seller appears to have a couple more of these at the same price. I think the ask is too high given the condition. Search for "Edison long play" and look at the sold listings for more info.

Re: $275.00 for an Edison Long Play Record
These three records have been up for several weeks now at the same price with no takers. As noted above, that would be more in keeping for a 12" record, and I'm guessing, given the description, most will have at least a few problems in playback. To be honest, the Edison long plays of whatever size aren't really worth their tarriff anyhow; the best of them that I've heard (and I have most of the 10", several of the 12") sound really weak, and their grooves are insanely fragile, hence risky to play. More a novelty--you can play an acoustic record on your diamond disc machine for 20 minutes without leaving your chair!--or a historical curiosity than something to play for pleasure.
