Re: Custom Victrola?
Wouldn't it be funny playing a Victrola in a swinging yacht? The needle sliding to and fro across the record... Nice set for one of those puzzle records with three intermixed grooves...

If the seas were that rough, I wouldn't be going anywhere.
Besides, my yacht would be big enough where it wouldn't matter.

Bob is correct, this is a stock oak Victrola XVI.Pathé Logical wrote: Fri Feb 03, 2023 7:41 pm Hi Allen,
This is just a trick of the camera lens, and the photo you show has been altered a bit from the original. Here is the original photo (from a glass negative) before being recently corrected for distortion in one direction. The Victrola pictured is just a stock VV-XVI.
Sorry,
Bob
The XVI's just after the L-Door carried these carving at the top and bottom of the legs. The wheels have been removed from the bottom of the legs making the cabinet lower to the floor and legs looking short. I imagine the wheels were removed so the Victrola didn't roll around.
No custom Victrola on the yacht, that was probably in the mansion.

Yes, but would the crank be that far forward?

Re: Custom Victrola?
The early conventional door models XVI E, F, and G from 1912-14 had more ornate carvings.
Also the E & F series, at least the F I had used a very forward crank placement. Plus a very long reach to the motor. The late Dwayne Wyatt made custom cranks and was able to fabricate one for me. About 20 years ago.
Original cranks are made of unobtainium.
