Is this Vic M a good Buy?

Post by Ben the phono man »

Been scouting around for an external horn machine, I saw this. Do you think this is a decent buy? Needs a little bit of work.

My initial impression is yes, money well spent. I paid almost 3 times that for my pristine MS.

Very pretty machine. I need to save up some money and sell some things.

Very good buy! Not sure on the origin of the table but any M is well worth it under $2K in my eyes!

I agree with all of the above. It's a good value.

If the motor is in decent condition, I would be happy to get that machine for $900.00. One concern regarding these early machines is that the bevel and spur gears tend to be noisy, (the culprit is often the spur gears which are often adjusted to close). That said, I have three machines with that gearing and I have been able to make them all run quietly.

The Monarch case is more ornate than the III and in my opinion, quite attractive. A nice Monarch for that price doesn’t come along every day.

I'd say that's a good, solid buy at that price.
